John “Scott” Foster (12-10-19) service 12-13-19

John “Scott” Foster, of Olive Hill, departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 26 days.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 14, 1943, the son of the late Donald Lester and Sarah Bertha Jones Foster. On April 10, 1971, he was united in marriage to Velda Charlene Freeman.
Scott was self-employed doing lawn services and had previously worked for Harbert Hills Nursing Home and Hardin County Hospital Nursing Home as an LPN. He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church. Scott was a very Godly man who helped any and everyone whenever and wherever he was needed. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Scott always had a smile on his face and when asked how he was he would say, “I’m blessed”…even when he was so sick he couldn’t hold his head up.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Velda Charlene Foster of Olive Hill, Scott is survived by children, Sarah Helen Foster of Olive Hill, Sharla Jean Graves  and her husband Stephen of Crump, Matthew Scott Foster and his wife Jeri of Savannah,  Sonya Kate Smith and her husband Nick of Olive Hill, David Zachary Foster of Memphis, Chance Tyler Foster and Hunter Gage Foster, both of Olive Hill and Terri Davis of Savannah; grandchildren, Nicole Francis Wint, Cassie Jean Smith, Jessica Dawn Wint, Logan Burke Graves, Natalie Rae Graves, Imi Reese Foster, Christian Matthew Foster, Tatum Lynlee Foster, Addison Paige Foster, Jace Cameron Foster, Brendon Guy Smith, Breanna Kaye Smith, and Victoria Nichole Smith; great-grandchildren, Darsun McCombs, Payton Wint, Pasley Wint, Gracee Brown and Emma Smith; and brothers, Allen Foster and his wife Janice of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Bruce Foster and his wife Lydie of Virginia, and Steven Foster and his wife Janetta of Cabool, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Judy Foster.
Along with his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his son, John Clinton Foster; grandson, Ryan Eugene Wint; and his brother, Gregory Foster.
Services were held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., at Seventh- day Adventist Church in Savannah with Pastor Bob Wint officiating. Burial followed in Lonesome Pine Cemetery at Savannah.
