Millie Norris (11-22-19) service 11-26-19

Millie L. Grooms Norris, of Savannah, was born in Bartow, Florida, on Oct. 30, 1941, the daughter of the late Alexander and China Lavella Penny Grooms. On Nov. 29, 1997, she was united in marriage to Johnie Robert Norris, who survives.
Millie departed this life on Friday, Nov. 22, at the age of 78 years and 23 days.
Millie was of Pentecostal belief and attended Olivet Pentecostal Church. She lived in the Walnut Grove community in Savannah. Millie will be remembered as a woman with a great heart. She loved God and prayed continuously.
In addition to her husband of 21 years, Millie is survived by her sons, Earl Wayne Lewis of Savannah and Eddie H. Beck of Dyersburg, Tennessee; sisters, Lillian Mae Strickland of Booneville, Mississippi, Linda Grooms of Savannah and Bonnie Tanner of Savannah; brothers, George Alexander Grooms of Mantachie, Mississippi and Larry Allen Grooms of Booneville, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Maxine Norris of Savannah; and many caregivers and friends.
Along with her parents, Millie was preceded in death by her sons, Ricky Lewis and Tommy Lewis; and sister, Irene Grooms.
Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m., at Olivet Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Daniel Hicks, James Norris and Brother Hanks officiating. Burial followed in Hollands Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
