Allean Surratt was born May 23, 1920, in Stantonville, the daughter of the late Walter and Artie Boshart Wyatt.
She departed this life on Friday, Nov. 8, in Adamsville, at the age of 99 years, 5 months, 16 days.
Mrs. Surratt was united in marriage to Elmer Surratt on April 29, 1939. Mr. Surratt preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1995.
She was the oldest member of West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville. She had worked at Harwood Manufacturing Company in Adamsville for many years. Allean loved the Lord, her church, working in her yard, flowers, cooking and helping others.
She is survived by her children, Emma Sue Smith and husband Dale of Adamsville, Donald Gene Surratt of Stantonville, Betty Lou Smith and husband Danny of Adamsville, Billy Wayne Surratt and wife Joyce of Stantonville; daughter-in-law, Linda Surratt Wilkerson; eight grandchildren, Tim, Kristie, Keith, Mellanie, Kevin, Jennifer, Shelia, April; 15 great-grandchildren, Bryan, Michael, Brittney, Korey, Chaise, DeAnna, Allissa, Tori Beth, Jared, Taylor, Dakota, Sarah, Emily, Hannah, Matthew; five great-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Creed, Harley, Riley, Aceyn; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Surratt was preceded in death by a son, Charles Elmer Surratt; four sisters, Maurine Wyatt, Inez Wyatt Humphrey, Mable Wyatt Roberts, Mary Nell Wyatt Pratt; two brothers, J.C. and Troy Wyatt; and two grandsons, James and Larry Smith.
Services were held on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville with Jerry Wood and Joe Loncar officiating. Burial followed in West Shiloh Cemetery at Stantonville.
