Kenneth “Texx” Thompson (10-13-19) service 10-18-19

Kenneth “Texx” Thompson, 58, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Oct. 13.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of Margaret Ann Scott Thompson and the late James Elbert Thompson. He was united in marriage to Sandra Joyce Vickery, who survives.
Mr. Thompson worked for 25 years in law enforcement. He started his career working at the Wayne County Boot Camp and then went to the Wayne County Sheriffs Department, Savannah Police Department, Henderson County Sheriffs Department as an investigator, City of Crump and then made his way to the Wayne County Courthouse.  While working at the courthouse in Wayne County, he was also working part-time for Comprehensive Security and Blue Line Security, both in Nashville.
Before working in law enforcement he worked for several years at Nesco Electrical Distributors in Corinth, Mississippi.  He was a member of Clifton Baptist Church in Clifton.
In addition to his wife, Sandra Thompson of Savannah, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Todd Thompson and Scott Tyler-Jones Thompson, both of Adamsville; his mother, Margaret Thompson of Waynesboro; sister, Jo Ann Throgmorton of Waynesboro; brothers, James Lynn Thompson of Columbia, Tennessee, Waymond Thompson of Savannah, Robert Thompson of Savannah and Blake Thompson of Columbia, Tennessee.
Services were held on Friday, Oct. 18, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Paul David Scott, Kelby Wardlow and Shane Fisher officiating. Burial followed in Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, Tennessee.
