William Ayers (9-29-19) service 10-5-19
William “Roger” Ayers, age 68, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29.
He was born Dec. 8, 1950, the son of the late William Walter “Bill” Ayers of Tennessee and Ruth “Geneva” Ayers, of Mississippi.
He was most recently preceded in death by his father, Bill Ayers and his very close friend, Anthony Johnson.
He is survived by his mother, Geneva Ayers; his sister, Ann Jobe (Jerry); daughter, Heather Ayers Boose (Wesley), daughter, Ashley Ayers Patrick (Robert); his grandchildren, Brandon Boose, Collin Boose, Dalton Patrick, Oakley Cummings and Livie Patrick.
Sometimes our family isn’t determined by blood, but chosen by love. So, in addition he leaves behind his family of choice: Corey Wichersheim, Millie Wickersheim, Ashley Wickersheim, Brittney Wickershiem, Joey Wickersheim, Ryan Johnson, Shawn Whited, Andy Henderson, Amber Henderson, and a host of many other friends and family.
Roger was a truck driver for 28 years and loved getting to see all the sights and scenery that brought for him. He also loved his family and friends very much.
A celebration of life in his honor was held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Pickwick Landing State Park.
