Dry season causes early burn permit requirements

Weeks of hot, dry weather is raising the risk of fire in west Tennessee.
“Normally, burn permits for the county are not required until Oct. 15, but due to the dry weather we are having the Tennessee Division of Forestry has announced burn permits will be required starting Sept. 23,” the Hardin County Fire Department said Wednesday.
