Bonnie Jean Newman, 82, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Aug. 25, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1936, in Nashville.
She is survived by her son, Alan Newman of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Laura Wilson and husband Charles of Olive Hill; five grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Rebecca, Heather, Kathryn, Ryan and Lily Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Arnold Newman; parents Harry and Mae Bemis; and brothers, Bruce Bemis and Warren Bemis.
Bonnie was active in each Presbyterian Church and community where they served. While living in Savannah, she enjoyed playing cards at the Hardin County Senior Center on Thursdays and was a loyal member of Mabryville FCE Club. Her hobbies included sewing, canning and crafts of any kind.
Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at First Presbyterian Church, Savannah, with Rev. Herb Adams officiating.
