Hugh Martin (8-21-19) service 8-22-19

Hugh Alden Martin, 75, of Stantonville, died on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

He was born in Dunklin County, Missouri, the son of the late Lee Andrew and Mary Odie Pugh Martin. He was united in marriage to Alice Faye Slaughter, who survives.

Mr. Martin was a crop farmer, truck driver and an avid horseman. He attended Jesus Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, Alice Faye  Martin of Stantonville, he is survived by a daughter, Leslie Niukkanen; three sons, Dath Lee Martin, Noel Martin and Brent Martin; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four sisters, Garmelia Egar, Vona Wood, Aeathra Fanning and Contentha Andrews; and a brother, Ralph Martin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren; two sisters, Waymon Barbara and Chris Johnson; and three brothers, Robert Martin, Terry Martin and Harlie Martin.

Services were held on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Darren Martin officiating. Burial followed in Martin Cemtery at Stantonville.
