Hershel “Red” Tilley Sr. (8-7-19) service 8-10-19

Hershel Lee “Red” Tilley Sr., 73, of Bethel Springs, formerly of Hardin County, died on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late James L. and Stella May Tilley. He was a carpenter and ran his own business. He attended New Beginnings Church in Finger, Tennessee.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan Kay Jones of Bethel Springs; Clara Mae Mast of Finger; one son, Hershel Lee Tilley Jr. of Ranger, Georgia; three sisters, Wanda Faye Steely and Glona Jo Hollander, both of Savannah, and Mary Frances Tilley of Ranger, Georgia; one brother, J.B. Tilley of Savannah; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Terry Dewayne Tilley; two sisters, Shirley Ann Powell and Fannie May Tilley; and two brothers, Herby Gene Tilley and Johnny Richard Tilley.
Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial followed in Hollands Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
