Anita Shannon (7-30-19) service 8-2-19

Anita Laverne Shannon of Stantonville, departed this life on Tuesday, July 30, in Savannah, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, 2 days.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1929, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Harlon Howard Reddin and Mary Viola Jones Reddin.  She was united in marriage to Luther Shannon on Dec. 20, 1947. Mr. Shannon preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2001.
Mrs. Shannon was a member of Mt. Vinson United Methodist Church. She was a retired garment factory worker. She enjoyed crocheting, her flower beds, her grandchildren, cooking and genealogy.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly J. Wall and husband Johnny of Southside, Tennessee, Barbara Jones and husband Charles of Stantonville; three grandchildren, Rebecca Johns and husband Steve of Clarksville, Tennessee, Tim Jones and wife Amanda of Rye, Arkansas, Terry Jones and wife Holly of Bethel Springs; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Johns, Jordan Johns, Addyson Johns, Scarlett Johns, Brayden Jones, Baylee Jones, Brynlee Jones, Blakely Jones; a sister, Emma Laws of Northport, Alabama; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Shannon was preceded in death by a son, Joe Neal Shannon; and a sister, Oleta Ellen Reddin Pruett.
Service was held on Friday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville with Tony Newman officiating. Burial  followed in Mt. Vinson Cemetery at Stantonville.
