Homer Whitman (7-30-19) service 8-3-19

Homer Whitman, 89, of Selmer, died on Tuesday, July 30, in Selmer.
He was born in Chester County, Tennessee, the son of the late Odell  and Era Brooks Whtiman. He was united in marriage to Arby Pennington, who survives.
Mr. Whitman worked for Brown Shoe Factory for 49 years, retiring from Factory V as superintendent. He proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army stationed in Germany. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Selmer.
In addition to his wife Arby Whitman of Selmer, he is survived by two sons, Keith Whitman and Ricky Bullock; a daughter, Felesha Perrigo; sister, Sandra Bass; three foster sisters, Barbara Wilson, Brenda Scott and Kay Kiddy; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Lonnie Whitman.
Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Ronnie Geary and Anthony Rowland officiating. Burial  followed in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens at Bethel Springs.
