Janice Cooksey (7-21-19) service 7-27-19

Janice Ann Butler Cooksey, of Adamsville, was born on Nov. 9, 1943, the daughter of the late James and Nell Butler. On April 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to James Ronald “Ronnie” Cooksey, who survives.
Jan departed this life on Sunday, July 21, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 12 days.
Jan was of Baptist belief and was a member of North Side Assembly of God in Jackson, Tennessee. She was a member of Jackson Humane Society and the president of the Professional Women’s Club in Jackson, Tennessee. Before retiring, she worked for Kelly Foods in Jackson for 34 years. Jan enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing, dog sitting and vacationing.
In addition to her husband, Ronnie, of 55 years, Jan is survived by her nieces, Tina Cooksey and Tina Presley of Morris Chapel; nephew, Jonathan Cooksey and his wife Heather of Reagan; great-niece, Josie Cooksey of Reagan; uncles, Raymond (Dot) Butler of Adamsville and Gene Butler of Morris Chapel; and cousins, Donna Jackson of Morris Chapel and Chris Butler and his wife Sandra of Hardin County.
Along with her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her grandparents; and special grandmother, Gertie McMurry.
Services were held on Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Jonathan Cooksey and Steve Tankersley officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery of Saltillo.
