James “Jim” Boyette (7-10-19) service 7-27-19

James Douglas “Jim” Boyette, 78, died Wednesday, July 10, in Memphis.
Born and raised in Memphis, he was the son of Mike and Martha Boyette. He was employed at Dupont Memphis for many years prior to his retirement in the late 1990s.
Art was a talent for him, he had his work recognized and displayed in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. He was an accomplished boxer in his youth, in 2011 he was inducted in to the Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame.
During his life Jim was active as a member of Norris Road Church of Christ (Memphis), Savannah Church of Christ (Savannah), Somerville Church of Christ (Somerville, Tennessee) and Berclair Church of Christ (Memphis).
He leaves his wife, Patricia Barnett Boyette. He is also survived by his daughter, Mischelle Gatewood of Memphis; his step-daughter, Constance Hill of Southaven, Mississippi; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, William Boyette of Lewisburg, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
