Shiloh Park hosting cannon demonstrations July 6-7

Shiloh National Military Park is presenting Civil War cannon firing demonstrations July 6-7.
Park Superintendent Dale Wilkerson said the demonstrations are in honor of the July 4th holiday.
The Shiloh cannon crew will be firing a 6-pounder gun across the street from the park visitor center.
The demonstrations take place Saturday at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m and 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, demonstrations are scheduled for 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Each program lasts about 30 minutes and interprets the weapons, projectiles and procedures Civil War artillery crews used during the war.
The museum and bookstore at Shiloh Battlefield are open during normal operating hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
