Nancy Callens (6-10-19) service 6-13-19

Nancy Callens, of Pickwick Dam, departed this life on Monday, June 10, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 21 days.
She was born in Hardin County on June 20, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Lois Godwin Hulin.  On March 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Callens, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2009.
Nancy was the co-owner of Callens Realty and retired from the State of Tennessee Youth Services where she served as a juvenile services officer for Hardin County. She is known by many from her years as manager at The Pink House Daycare. She was a member of Savannah Church of Christ, the Junior Auxiliary, the Savannah Business and Professional Women’s Association, and the Jaycette. Nancy loved to work in her flowers and yard, boating and the beach. She especially loved her family, her many friends she loved like family, her church family and her work family.
Nancy is survived by her son, John Paul Callens of Pickwick Dam; sisters, Shirley Thomas of Savannah and Johnnie Barnes of Counce; brother-in-law, Ralph Callens; nieces and nephews, Lois Ann Seaton, Mary Jo Wilson, Nicole Barnes Skelton and Bart Barnes; and her dog, Mykia.
Services were held on Thursday, June 13, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial followed in White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam.
