Savannah man charged with aggravated assault in shooting

A Savannah man is charged with aggravated assault in a Tuesday night shooting.
According to Savannah police, officers responded around 7 p.m. to 55 Eleanor St. regarding a report of shots fired.
While police were working the scene, gunshot victim Malik Casey entered the emergency room at Hardin Medical Center. Casey, 22, of Savannah, was subsequently airlifted to a trauma center and is listed in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.
Information developed during the investigation led police to believe Freddie Cunningham IV, 21, is “one of the individuals responsible for the shooting” and he was arrested on the aggravated assault charge.
More arrests are expected in the case.
