Samuel Nathan Plunk, 78, of Savannah, died on Friday, May 24, in Corinth, Mississippi.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Roscoe and Dorean Blankenship Plunk. He was united in marriage to Peggy Lynn Moore, who survives.
Mr. Plunk worked for Caterpillar for 25 years plus five years benefit for early retirement. He was a member of Grace Sanctuary in Savannah.
He departed this life on Friday, May 24, in Corinth, Mississippi.
In addition to his wife, Peggy Plunk of Savannah, he is survived by his children, Cathy Tower of Phoenix, Arizona and David Plunk of Galesburg, Illinois; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelda Church and Ella Bailey, both of Southaven, Mississippi and Magdeline Smith of Horn Lake, Mississippi; and brothers, Harold Plunk of Parsons, Raymond Plunk and Eddie Plunk, both of Southaven, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Omega Plunk; two brothers, Paul David and James T. Plunk; and one grandson.
Services were held on Wednesday, May 29, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Herman Williams officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
