Donald “Doodle” Eliff (5-22-19) service 5-27-19

Donald Lynn “Doodle” Eliff, 63, of Crump, died on Wednesday, May 22.
He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Elbert O’dell and Annie Katherine Stewart Eliff.
On May 20, 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he specialized as a helicopter mechanic, and served honorably until July 11, 1977. He graduated from Tennessee Center of Applied Technology with a certification in auto mechanics.  This led to mechanic jobs at Pettigrew Ford in Adamsville and the Brown Shoe Company in Savannah, where he worked as a foreman as well. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Thomas of Adamsville, Ellen Jean Smith of Russellville, Arkansas; two brothers, Stewart Wayne Eliff of Crump and Johnny O’dell Eliff of Castleberry, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: grandparents, Johnny Whitfield Stewart, Hester Lucille Ganus Stewart, Harrison McKinley Eliff, Myrtle Jane Davis Eliff; and a brother, Roger Dale Eliff.
Services were held on Monday, May 27, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Gene Hanna and David Eliff officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
