Adamsville hosting Memorial Day event at city park

Veterans and citizens are invited to attend a Memorial Day event Monday at 2 p.m. at Adamsville Veterans Park.
Organized by the City of Adamsville and the American Legion, guest speakers include state Rep. Ron Gant, Adamsville Mayor David Leckner, McNairy County Mayor Larry Smith, Post 97 Commander Bob May and Harvey Durham, master of ceremonies.
American Legion Post 162 Honor Guard of Selmer will post the colors and perform the ceremonial rifle salute.
“Come out and join us in our celebration to salute all veterans past and present for the sacrifices they and their families have had to endure so you and I can lead the lifestyle we enjoy every day,” said May.
