Rain dates for HCHS graduation, baccalaureate

Hardin County High School’s Class of 2019 graduation ceremony is set for Friday, May 24, and baccalaureate is scheduled for Thursday, May 23.
Baccalaureate takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Jim Carroll Stadium. If it rains, the event will move to the gym on the same date and time, the school announced.
Friday’s graduation also takes place at the stadium, at 7:30 p.m. But if there’s rain, the ceremony is to be postponed a day to Saturday night at 7:30. Rain on Saturday will move graduation to Sunday at 2 p.m. Rain on Sunday will reschedule the ceremony to Monday at 7:30 p.m.
HCHS said school officials decided years ago to keep the ceremony at the stadium as a matter of policy because some parents might not have a clear view of their child walking across the stage at the gymnasium.
