THP announces April 19 roadblock

The Tennessee Highway Patrol announced on April 4 that it will be conducting a sobriety roadside safety checkpoint in Hardin County at 11 p.m. on April 19 on Tenn. 69, north of Cherry Chapel Loop.
The THP notes that impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others every year in the United States.
Troopers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment.
Troopers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed, while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
According to the THP, sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.

Why do troopers have to publish when they are having a check? I think it should be done without warning.

This is a slap in the face to all law abiding citizens that give folks who drink this poison an absolute way to avoid arrest. Also our government allows clubs & joints nationwide to sell this garbage to consumers as they sit around for hours in these hellholes & become drunk & hug the road. Our brother was killed by one of these drivers on Election Day August 2nd 1952 at 19 years old. Let these folks that want it consume it at home & end the public consumption of this garbage. Thank you!

You can thank your liberal appellate court judges for the policy of having to announce roadblocks in advance. A court order from an appellate court judge over 10 years ago.
