Caroline Doyle (3-24-19) service 3-28-19

Caroline Jean Benson Doyle, of Savannah, was born on Feb. 26, 1947, in Lutts, the daughter of the late John William and Ora Lee Cox Graham.
Caroline worked at Angelica as a sewing machine operator and at Savannah Healthcare for 17 years in the housekeeping department. She loved the Lord and was a member of White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah. Her favorite activity was fishing and she was always ready to go anytime she could. She had a heart of gold and was the first one to volunteer to help anyone in need. Her beautiful smile would light up the room and was something everyone couldn’t help but notice. Caroline’s greatest love was her family and they will always remember what a wonderful, understanding and special mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother she was.
Caroline Doyle departed this life on Sunday, March 24, in Savannah at the age of 72 years and 26 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Burcham of Savannah; three sons, Ronnie Benson, Terry Benson and Kenneth Shane Benson, all of Savannah; sister, Frances Lard; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, J.D. Doyle; her first husband and the father of her children, Calvin Benson; brother, John Cecil Graham; and an infant sister, Betty Jean Graham.
Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Foundation.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to everyone who was a part of the excellent care Caroline received, including the staff at Davita Dialysis Center, the nurses and staff at Legacy Hospice, and Regina Robbins.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Savannah.
