Gerald R. Wilson, of Adamsville, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 14, at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 11 days.

He was born in Gibson County, Tennessee, on June 3, 1931, the son of the late Ernest and Callie Kate Wilson. On July 31, 1958, he was united in marriage to Shirley Crow, who survives.

Gerald grew up in Bradford, Tennessee and had also lived in Hardin County for 35 years, Atwood, Tennessee for 15 years, and Florida for two years. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired from Milan Express where he was a truck driver and a terminal manager. Gerald loved golfing, fishing, and buying and selling, especially tools.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Wilson of Adamsville; grandchildren, Crista Wilson Bishop of Counce and Kara Wilson of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Caleb Reed and Corbin Reed, both of Counce; and brother, Bob Wilson of Atwood, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his children, Stephen Wilson and Stephanie Wilson; siblings, Bill, Sam, Pauline, and twins, Ralph and Ruth Wilson.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Joe Loncar officiating.
