Zella Ann Balentine, of Savannah, departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 24 days.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Elvin “Britches” and Velma “Pete” Haynes.
Zella Ann had worked for Haynes and Shaw Logging Company in accounting, Independent Insurance Agent, and for the last 25 years, she was a caregiver. She loved music, being outdoors, enjoying nature and gardening, and spending time with grandkids and family.
She is survived by her children, Johnnie Hosea and Ashley Balentine and his wife Shea, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Carey Balentine, Trevor Balentine, Jessica Jarrell, Caitlin Hosea, Hunter Hosea and Matthew Hosea; great-grandchildren, Adriyana Smith, Brenlee Smith and Damiann Harris; brother, Johnny White and wife Louise of Savannah; sister, Donnie White Shaw Burrow and husband William of Savannah; and special friend, William “Bill” Davis of Savannah.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at Memory Gardens with Keith Holloway officiating.
