Dorothy Davis (1-9-19) service 1-12-19

Dorothy Davis, 82, of Adamsville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Charlie Ross and Beedie Marie Baskins Dickey. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Davis, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Davis worked in the sewing factories, Dillion Manufacturing and Garan Manufacturing, for more than 30 years before retiring. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Savannah.
She is survived by her children, Mary White of Adamsville, Brenda Franks of Savannah, Kathy Freeman of Scottsboro, Alabama, Jerry Davis of Adamsville and Diane Cook of Savannah; sister, Geneva Sheets of Adamsville; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Verda Umphrey, Juanita Dickey, Myrtle Williams, Ruth Harville, Ada Marie Hunt, Rosie Umphrey, and Charlene Gregory; brothers, Daulton Eugene Dickey, Wareka Ray Dickey, Charley Walter “C.W.” Dickey, Albert Ross Dickey, Larry Nelson Dickey, William Edgar Dickey, and Samuel Vernon Dickey; one granddaughter and one great-great-grandson.
Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. James Roberts officiating. Burial followed in Crump Cemetery.
