Larry Gene Rucker, 73, of Adamsville, was born in Lucedale, Mississippi on Dec. 7, 1945, the son of the late Troy Ellis and Trixie Hilton Rucker. He died on Tuesday, Dec. 25.

He was united in marriage to Charlotte Annette Provience, who survives.

Larry loved working as a boilermaker, and he was a member of Local 263 Boilermaker. He was a member of Adamsville First Baptist Church. Larry loved being outside, fishing, camping and boating. He enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, working on lawnmowers, watching westerns, and playing with his poodle puppies, Lucy and Peewee. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Charlotte, he is survived by his children, Owen Gene Rucker and his wife Sheridan of Spanish Fort, Alabama and Bobby Lee Rucker of Robersonville, Alabama; stepdaughter, Tomia Hudson and her partner Ricky Churchwell of Crump; grandchildren, Candie Hollins and her husband Brent of Adamsville, Rod Ganus and his wife Heather of Adamsville, Kristan Horton of Adamsville, Peyton Rucker of Texas and Collin Rucker of Texas; great-grandchildren, Karlee Ganus, Aiden Hollins, Mila Horton and Elliott Horton; brothers, Carol Rucker of Wayde, Mississippi, Harlon Rucker of Lucedale, Mississippi, Stanley Rucker and his wife Jenny of Lucedale, Mississippi; and sister, Patricia Bishop of Satsuma, Alabama.

Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Adamsville with Phil Mitchell and Chad Ball officiating. Burial followed in Adamsville Cemetery.
