Two people were injured Monday evening in the Walnut Grove area in a three-vehicle crash on Tenn. 69 involving a log truck and trailer.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the log truck driven by Charles McMeans, 71, of Counce, was northbound on Tenn. 69, crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2009 Ford Mustang traveling south on the highway and driven by Casey Morris, 20, of Savannah.

The Mustang rotated and hit a northbound 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by Brett Bunch, 35, of Savannah.

The log truck came to a controlled stop on the east side of the highway, facing north. The other two vehicles came to final rest in the roadway.

Morris, who was not wearing a seat belt, was airlifted. Bunch also was not wearing a seat belt and was injured, the THP report shows.

Hardin County Fire Chief Melvin Martin said Tuesday that no one was critically injured.

The THP said charges against McMeans are pending.
