Tom Floyd (11-23-18) service 12-1-18

Tom H Floyd’s journey on earth ended on Friday, Nov. 23, at his home in Savannah,  after a long, hard battle with cancer.
Tom was born on Aug. 26, 1959, in Logan, Utah.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Clettis and Ramona Hill Floyd; wife, Brenda Poss Floyd; and brother, Dan H Floyd (Pamela).
He is survived by his wife, Santa Pressly Floyd who lovingly cared for him during his extended illness; sons, Rocky Lee Floyd and Anthony Gene Floyd; brothers, Ned H Floyd (Dawn) and Bob H Floyd (Jennifer); and sister, Esther (Mark) Wheat. Tom’s step-children include: Clyde Hall, Jonathan Hall (Holly), Amanda Hall Gonzalez, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Davis, Betty Nixon, Kenneth Davis and Becky Lewis. Tom left behind 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended with the Corinth, Mississippi congregation. Tom was an avid reader of mystery and sci-fi and anything else he could get his hands on. He loved working in his garden and yard. Tom enjoyed being with his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was a furniture builder by trade and was talented in building and making things. Troubleshooting was a skill that he used quite frequently with his vehicles.
Because Tom donated his body to science, there will not be a traditional visitation and funeral, but there will be a Visiting and Memorial Service on Saturday, Dec. 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ building, 404 George E Allen Drive in Booneville, Mississippi. Visiting will be from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with the Memorial Service beginning in the chapel at 12. This will be conducted by Bishop David Maxwell. All are invited.
