Michael Reece Kemp, of Savannah, was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on June 15, 1961, the son of the late Jimmy Reece Kemp and Freeda White Bridges.
Michael was a pipeline welder for Local 798. He was a member of the NRA. Michael was a collector of case knives, hot wheels and sports cards. He loved the river, hunting and doing woodwork.
Michael departed this life on Friday, Nov. 16, in Savannah, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 1 day.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Ballard and her husband Zach of Bethel Springs; sister, Camille Kemp of Adamsville; grandchildren, Braedon and Avery Ballard; stepgrandchildren, Chelsie and Dawson Ballard; stepfather, Larry Bridges of Savannah; niece, Lauren Long of Savannah; nephew, Steven Long of Savannah; his girlfriend, Whitney Jones of Savannah; and his special family, Gayle Cook, Silynda Cook and Alexagail Cook, all of Savannah, and Nicole Kelly of Hawaii.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, D.G. and Letha White, Charlie Kemp and Glen Kemp Walker.
Services were held on Monday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mickey Alexander officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
