James Melson (10-31-18) service 11-3-18

James Ricky Melson, of Counce, was born in Hardin County, on June 27, 1961, the son of the late Thomas and Lois Hickerson Melson.
James was of Pentecostal belief.  He loved reading his Bible, doing mechanical work and taking care of animals. James loved being outdoors and going to flea markets. He was a very outgoing person and never met a stranger.
James departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at his residence in Counce, at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 4 days.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Melson of Savannah, James Ricky Melson Jr. of Corinth, Mississippi, Sarah Johnson of Corinth, Mississippi, Shannon Campbell of Guntown, Mississippi and Miranda Pettigo of Boonville, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Cathy Oliver and Wanda Grimes, both of Savannah; and one brother, Donnie Melson of Counce.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, Josh Melson; three sisters, Elizabeth Joyce Kiddy, Carolyn Faye Murphy and Connie Evelyn Mills; and one brother, Dennis Lee Melson.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m., at Souls Harbor Church in Savannah with Jason Collins officiating. Burial followed in Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
