UPDATE, Nov. 5– Police confirmed the victim is 19-year-old Haley Wilcutt of Savannah.
INITIAL STORY– Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in the Savannah Walmart parking lot, city Police Chief Michael Pitts said early Monday morning.
Authorities did not immediately release the name of the victim.
Pitts said Levar Summers, of Nashville, is charged with first degree felony murder, conspiracy to commit especially aggravated armed robbery, conspiracy to commit sale, manufacture, delivery of Schedule VI drugs, and possession of a weapon during commission of a dangerous felony.
Savannah resident Ivory Cunningham is charged with conspiracy to commit especially aggravated armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit sale, manufacture, delivery of Schedule VI drugs.
The shooting occurred Sunday. Police were notified by Hardin Medical Center at about 3:50 p.m. of a gunshot victim coming into the hospital. City officers responded to the scene and began to investigate, Pitts said.
He said that at this time, the incident is a joint Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Savannah Police Department investigation.
