Driver airlifted after logs penetrate passenger cabin

Editor’s note: An update to this story is available in the Nov. 1 print edition.

A 31-year-old Michie man was flown to Regional One in Memphis for treatment after his vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer loaded with logs Wednesday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said.
According to a THP report, Jesse Harrison was driving a 2008 GMC pickup truck east on Tenn. 57 in Hardin County when the logs penetrated the passenger compartment of his vehicle in a collision reported at around 7:30 p.m.
The tractor-trailer left the scene.
The report says it’s unknown if Harrison was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol or drugs were not factors on his part.
The THP said Thursday morning that the crash is still under investigation.

Well, it’s been six days…has the driver of the tractor-trailer not been identified?

We checked with the THP on Monday. No new developments at that time.
