Douglas “Woody” Sterling (10-11-18)

Douglas Woodrow “Woody” Sterling, 73, passed from this life on Thursday morning, Oct. 11, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Hardeman County, he was the son of the late Steve and Nancy Wilson Sterling and lived most all of his life in Hardeman County. Mr. Sterling was a house builder and member of Church of God International. In his leisure time, he enjoyed Civil War re-enactments, country dancing, fishing and hunting.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda, whom he married May 21, 2006; daughters, Kimberly (Glenn) McDonald of Nashville, Vickie (Chris) Ellis of Pleasant View, Tennessee, and Kathy Utley of Biloxi, Mississippi; son, Tracy Sterling of Henderson; step-daughter, Sherri (Jerrod) Staggs of Adamsville; step-son, Donald Robbins Jr. of Milledgeville; sisters, Gail (Cleveland) Wilson of Saltillo, Nell (Randall) Rhodes of Grand Prairie, Texas and Jane (George) Ellis of Medon; and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Sterling.
