Roger Barham (9-11-18) service 9-19-18
Roger R. Barham, 69, of Everett, Massachusetts, died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, after a short illness.
He was born in Hardin County, son of the late William T. and Velmer Barham of Savannah. He was united in marriage to Roberta Iandolo, who survives.
Mr. Barham served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wasp and participated in the Gemini-Titan 12 Recovery in November 1966. He also served as a member of Savannah Police Department, and was honored for his quick thinking and ability to save the life of a 3-year-old choking on a hot dog lodged in his throat. He was a member of Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Tennessee-Savannah Lodge 102.
In addition to his wife Roberta Barham, he is survived by his children, Brenda Barham of Freeport, Maine, Michael Moschella of Holly Springs, North Carolina, Derek Moschella of Everett, Massachusetts; siblings, Maudie Naylor of Finger, James Barham of Jasper, Alabama, Virginia Parnell of Cleveland, Texas, Lydia Benson of Morris Chapel; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Sondra Barham; and siblings, Robert Counce, Charles Barham, Roy Barham and William Lee Barham.
Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, in Everett, Massachusetts. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Everett.
