Howard J. White, 81, of Elsberry, Missouri, formerly of Savannah, died Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Missouri.

He was born in Silva, Missouri, the son of the late Leonard William and Clara Ideana Evens White. He was united in marriage to Frankie Dolores Highland, who survives.

Mr. White was employed by McDonnell Douglas aircraft manufacturer as a paint specialist for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the machinist union, IAM, Local 837 in St. Louis. He was a member of Marinatha Baptist Church in Troy, Missouri.

He is survived by Frankie White of Elsberry, Missouri; four children, Pamela LaBanca of Foley, Missouri, Tammy Morris of Elsberry, Missouri, Debbie White of Wright City, Missouri, and Gregg White of Troy, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Howard also leaves one sister, Ruby Jean Wade of New Madrid, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Lynn White; five sisters, Dorothy White, Bettie White, Ovalean Allen, Rosie Highland and Freida Bosley; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, Missouri. Jacob Shinn of Mid-America Baptist Church of Winfield officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield.
