Oct. 9 is last day to register to vote

The Hardin County Election Commission reminds residents the last day to register to vote in the upcoming general election is Oct. 9.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 30.
The general election for state and federal candidates, including Tennessee governor, is on Nov. 6.
Early voting for the Nov. 6 election is from Oct. 17-Nov. 1, at the Hardin County Election Commission office on the lower level of the county courthouse on Main Street in Savannah.
Early voting hours are Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
