Selma Baugus Newton (9-22-18) service 9-25-18

Selma Baugus Newton, of Savannah, departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the age of 89 years and 2 days.
She was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on Sept. 20, 1929, to the late Joe and Carrie Murphy Robbins.
Selma was united in marriage to Herman Baugus, who preceded his wife in death.  She was later united in marriage to Hardy Newton, who also preceded her in death.
Selma worked at Whites School for two years, River Heights Manufacturing for five years, and retired at Browns Shoe after working there for 16 ½ years. She also volunteered at Park Rest Nursing Home for almost seven years.
She leaves one son, Mike and wife Deborah Baugus, grandchildren Michael Baugus, Alex (Josh) Mascagni, and Kaleb Byrd. Selma also leaves behind one brother, Thomas Glen (Sonny) Robbins from Iron City, Tennessee and five sisters, Velma Smith of Collinwood, Tennessee,  Emma Moore of Florence, Alabama, Jewell Holt of Ford City, Alabama and Kathleen Foust and Charlene Davis both of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Rev. C.M. Robbins and Waco Robbins.
Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Shayne Riley officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
