Tena Riley (9-10-18)

Tena Musch Riley, of Savcannah, known as Granny to everyone, went to her eternal home on Monday, Sept. 10, at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 2 days. She was surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on Nov. 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Edward Musch Sr. and Tena Pol Musch. On April 22, 1943, she was united in marriage to William Franklin Riley Sr., who preceded her in death on April 7, 1992.
Tena moved to Savannah in 2008, and was a member of Spoken Word Church. She loved her family, her church family and all animals, large or small, especially her cat, “Baby Girl.” She enjoyed listening to Jody Copeland (a member of her church) sing and play guitar at Hardin County Senior Center monthly. She also loved gospel music, watching TBN and attending church every chance she had. She read her Bible faithfully every day.
She is survived by two daughters, Tena C. Turner (Ben) of Savannah and Wilma F. Beagle (Thomas) of Lexington, Tennessee; one son, William F. Riley Jr. (Brenda) of Lexington, Tennseee; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Miss Tena was preceded in death by sisters, Johannah Baumgarten, Emma Bell, Ellen Barron and an infant sister, Tena Musch, whom she was named after. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Musch Jr.
She was laid to rest on Thursday, Sept. 13, next to her husband at Memphis Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, Tennessee.
