Road Superintendent Steve Cromwell: Goal is to rework as many roads as possible

Hardin County Road Superintendent Steve Cromwell made the following statement Monday about his election on Aug. 2:
Thank you, Hardin County, for your vote of confidence in me. I greatly appreciate it.
There are good roads in our county, but I am aware that several roads need a lot of repair. My main goal in these next four years is to rework as many of these roads as possible.
With the help of you, the citizens of Hardin County, we at the Highway Department will strive to accomplish this goal.
Thank you again.

Dew Drop rd. and Enchanted Lane has so many Pot holes it is not funny and the road is eaten out all down the sides. It is hard to miss them pot holes and it can do a job on our cars. And, they tried to fix Enchanted Lane by putting gravel on the hill that is in front of my house which is not safe and it makes it so dusty that my cars and my house inside and out is getting dirty, meaning more cleaning. GOD BLESS!

Mr.Cromwell. I live at 3500 Pompeys Branch Rd. All of this road is made of is patch spots. Also water cover the road and causing erosion washing out property’s on the lake side. We all pay taxes up here. Like our neighbor says we are just a cash cow up here. I have been up here for 5 years and the road dept has done nothing but put patch stops until they all just about run together until the roads are terrible. If you can’t help us please let me know who else we can talk to. I will be looking forward to talking to you.

I live on Ivy Lane which has washed out from the heavy rains and filled up the Culver, making the rain spill over, washing my driveway. There is no ditch on the upper side of lane which is causing lane to wash out. Would appreciate your looking at it soon.

When are you going to repair Blanton Rd. I live at 2835 Blanton (behind the golf course) . The shovel or two of cold mix doesn’t do much. May be a good time to take care of it. Thamks.
