Shooting victim in possible homicide identified

UPDATE 2– The young man who was fatally shot, Bruce Deloit, is the son of Adamsville Police Department officer Johnny Deloit.

“The Adamsville Police Department is saddened to hear of the news relating to Officer Deloit’s son. We respect his privacy at this time and have allowed him ample time off to be with his family,” said Assistant Police Chief Daniel Vandiver.

UPDATE– An official close to the investigation advises that one adult and one juvenile are now in custody on aggravated burglary charges in connection with the shooting investigation. There are no charges pertaining to the shooting itself at this time.

PREVIOUS– The TBI says its agents are are working jointly with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a possible homicide that occurred in the early morning hours Thursday in Hardin County in the Nixon community.

Bruce Deloit

Bruce Lee Deloit, 19, of Savannah was found deceased from a gunshot wound, at a residence on Hamburg Loop. His body will be transported to Memphis, where an autopsy will be scheduled. This continues to be an active and ongoing investigation, according to the TBI.
The Sheriff’s Office said a possible suspect in the incident, Zack Bullock, 18, was taken into custody.
He was apprehended after a public “be on the lookout notice was issued.”
