Juanita Kendall (7-19-18) service 7-27-18
Juanita C. Luton Kendall, 80, of Savannah, died on Thursday, July 19.
She was daughter to the late Jessie and Jasper Luton.
She was an active member of New Zeal M.B. Church, where she served as a trustee and as the church treasurer.
She was married to Richard “RD” Kendall, who preceded her in death. Together they served our country as part of the United States Air Force family. As a USAF spouse, Juanita put on her traveling shoes. To this union three children were born. One child, Anthony Wayne Kendall, preceded her in death.
Upon her return to Tennessee, Juanita became a Head Start teacher, earning a Child Development Associate. She retired on July 30, 2012, with more than 30 years of service and a Head Start service award. She continued to serve as a substitute teacher an additional four years until her failing health prevented her from continuing.
She is survived by two children, Phyllis Kendall of Greenwood, Indiana and Patrick Kendall of Savannah; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Rev. L.W. Luton of Jackson, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, July 27, at noon at New Zeal M.B. Church, 1300 Small Road, Morris Chapel.
