Jim Blaylock (7-19-18) service 7-29-18

Jim Blaylock, 80, of Counce, died on Thursday, July  19, at his residence in Counce.
Funeral Service is at First Baptist Church of Counce on  Sunday, July 29, at 5 p.m., with Bro. Jimmie McChristial officiating.
Visitation is Sunday, July 29, from 2 p.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Blaylock was born Jan. 19, 1938.
He was of Southern Baptist faith and was a amember of First Baptist Church of Counce, where he served as business administrator. He was an ordained minister.
Jim retired with 40 years of service from Farm Supply organizations all over the state of Illinois. After serving his country in the Army National Guard he worked briefly at Mississippi Hwy. Department as a surveyer. He worked for the railroad as the telegrapher and station manager.  He graduated from Ellard High School in Bruce, Mississippi, in 1957. Jim loved fishing, camping, going on cruises, landscaping, going to auctions, spending time with his grandchildren and going to their ballgames. His first love was the work he did at church and ministering to everyone.  He enjoyed going to CentriKid camp with the church. For many years he and his wife would go to church camp and cook for the kids.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gwen Blaylock of Counce; son, Mark Blaylock (Sue) of Macomb, Illinois; daughters, Lisa Blaylock of Nashville, Karen Wilkerson (Marlin) of Pellia, Iowa and Cindy Simmons (Jonathan) of Marianna, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Megan Tucker, Nick Wilkerson (Rachel), Ryan Wilkerson, Jacob Simmons, Lauren Simmons, Angelina Blaylock, Anna Simmons and Rachel Blaylock; one great-grandchild, Hunter Wilkerson; brothers, William Blaylock (Von) of Oakland, Mississippi and Sammy Blaylock (Lisa) of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Ruthie Jean Carroll (Jimmy) of Bruce, Mississippi; and other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Walter Blaylock Sr. and mother, Danny Rue James Blaylock.
