Bradford Silliman, 70, of Savannah, died on Sunday, July 22.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Dorothy Bradford McGruffin Conomos and the late Charles Vrtacek Silliman.

Mr. Silliman served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a retired author and journalist. He was news editor at The Courier for several years in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Chloe Alexa Silliman of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Mia Duay of Hampton, Georgia and Joana Faath of Orlando, Florida; brothers, Andrew Conomos of Yalaha, Florida and Christopher Conomos of Oviedo, Florida; and two grandchildren, Veronica Helen Leake and Benjamin Bradford Hoye Leake, of Denver, Colorado; son-in-law, Walter Leake of Denver, Colorado; and dogs, Zippy and Sancho.

Memorial donations can be made to the Hardin County Humane Society.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 26,  at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Savannah with Arnold Nieman officiating.
