Possible fatal shooting in vicinity of Ryan Street

UPDATE, 6:45 P.M.-- Savannah police confirm officers were dispatched to a shots fired call on Ryan Street at 3:57 p.m. Monday and at the same time to the Hardin Medical Center emergency room  regarding a victim shot multiple times. The victim is in critical condition and the investigation is ongoing.

A possibly fatal shooting occurred today in Savannah just before 4 p.m., apparently in the Ryan Street vicinity.

It’s believed Savannah police have a suspect in custody.

Hardin County E-911 dispatched officers to Ryan Street and minutes later, advised that a gunshot victim had arrived at Hardin Medical Center.

Savannah police investigate a shooting Monday.

While a reporter was at Ryan Street, a visibly upset man believed to be the father of the person who was shot arrived and asked the reporter, “Is my son still alive?”

The reporter said he didn’t know.

At Hardin Medical Center, a maroon car with all four doors open and guarded by two Savannah police officers was parked in front of the emergency room.

A young man identified himself as the owner of the vehicle. He later told a bystander, “He got shot three times, man.”
