Field of Friends World Series hopes for huge crowd

After being postponed one week due to wet weather, the Field of Friends Baseball League remains very excited to host their First Ever Special Needs Baseball World Series Wednesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. at the Hank Deberry Memorial Complex in Savannah.

Organizers are hoping for a tremendous outpouring of support from the local area, as many as 800-1,000 fans that would turn out to support the amazing athletes in their final game of the season. Admission is free.

FOF encourages as many folks as possible to come out and help make it a night to remember. While they are aware it is a church night they are hopeful that youth groups and entire churches might see fit to come out and join other churches as they gather together in a different type of worship and in raising up the spirits of these Special Needs Athletes and their families.

Four churches have committed to serve food on World Series Night but more are needed. Please contact Debbe Welch at (731) 727-4428 or debbe.welch@shelteringtree.org for more information or if you would like to help.

The Annual Awards Ceremony will be held immediately after the games.
