Blake Melson (4-15-18) service 4-19-18

Austin Blake Riley Melson, of Clifton, departed this life on Sunday, April 15, at the age of 20 years, 7 months and 27 days.
He was born in Selmer on Aug. 19, 1997, the son of Brian Melson and Teresa Austin Ervin.
Blake was an active member of the U.S. Army Reserve 663 Engineer Company out of Florence, Alabama and employed with Corecivic in Clifton as a correctional sergeant. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah. Blake loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his mother, Teresa Austin Ervin of Clifton; father, Brian Melson and his wife Kim of Savannah; sister, Brittany Melson and her fiancé Corey Young of Tampa, Florida; stepsister, Lilli Stanfill of Savannah; grandparents, Ricky and Elva Dicus of Clifton, Ben and Christine Melson of Savannah; great-grandmother, Ruby DeShazier of Savannah; girlfriend, Geneva Shannon of Savannah; and a multitude of friends.
Blake was preceded in death by his grandfather, Willie Austin; and great-grandfather, John Melson.
Services were held on Thursday, April 19, at 11 a.m., at Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Savannah with Ben Rivers officiating. Burial followed in Holland’s Creek United Methodist Church at Savannah.
