Paul Layton (4-5-18) service 4-8-18
Paul Layton, 80, of Counce, died on Thursday, April 5.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Alford and Pearl Meeks Layton. He was united in marriage to Grace Pauline Fuqua, who survives.
Mr. Layton was a member of Counce First United Pentecostal Church. After high school, he lived and worked at a gas station with his brother Eugene in Memphis. He later moved back to Counce and worked with his brother Charlie at a gas station before he helped build the paper mill and Staffer Chemicals.
In addition to his wife Grace Layton, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Layton of Counce.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky Edward Layton and Phillip Lynn Layton; sisters, Bea Surratt and Mary Hurley; and brothers, Gene Layton and Charlie Layton.
Services were held on Sunday, April 8, at Counce First United Pentecostal Church in Counce with Glenn R. Miller officiating. Burial followed in White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam.
