Carol Ball (3-28-18)

Carol Ann Marie Pitt Ball departed this life on Wednesday, March 28, at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 10 days.
She was born in Toronto, Canada on Oct. 18, 1954, the daughter of June Blenkhorn Pitt and the late Frederick Pitt. On Aug. 25, 1978, she was united in marriage to Robert Ball, who survives.
Before moving to Savannah, Mrs. Ball lived in Toronto, Canada, Pickering, Canada, and Peachtree City, Georgia. In Savannah, she worked as a notary agent for more than 10 years and as an inspection agent for Douglas-Guardian for more than 10 years. Mrs. Ball was also a disaster coordinator and first aid trainer for American Red Cross, legal secretary for Shaw College, pack leader for Boy Scouts of Canada and the USA, and a Girl Scout troop leader assistant. She enjoyed assisting the band at Hardin County High School as both a parent and a volunteer, and she owned and rented out real estate.
In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Ball is survived by her daughters, Julianne Ball of Washington, D.C., Hilary Ball Kakanis and husband Paul of Longview, Texas, and Kathyrn Ball of Savannah; sons, Robert Ball and wife Lyndsay of Ashburn, Virginia and Connor Ball of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; sister, Deborah Pitt Phillips and husband Rick of Powassan, Ontario; grandchildren, Robbie and Andrew Ball of Ashburn, Virginia; niece and nephew, Steven and Christine Phillips of Powassan, Ontario; Uncle and Aunt, Edward and Deanna Blenkhorn of Toronto, Ontario; and cousin, Sean Blenkhorn.
Memorial donations can be made to The West Institute for Cancer Research at the University of Tennessee and the American Cancer Society.
