Louella Barrier, of Savannah, departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, 8 days.
She was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, on June 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Mary Olgra Beckham Richardson Hunt and Bob Richardson. On Dec. 29, 1945, she was united in marriage to Perry J.V. Barrier, who preceded her in death March 27, 2014.
Louella had worked for Angelica Manufacturing for 40 years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Savannah. Louella loved her church and her church family. She enjoyed canning, gardening and shopping. She loved her husband, daughter, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
She is survived by her children, Wayne “Slim” Barrier and his wife Susan, and Diane Polk and her husband Tony, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Lori LaPack and her husband Chris, Walter Pickett and his wife Misti, Kevin Barrier and his wife Stephanie, and Dewayne Polk and his wife Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren, Christopher LaPack, Lauren Pickett, Hannah LaPack, Carson Pickett, Eli LaPack, Annsley Pickett, Neely Barrier and Nadlee Barrier.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louella was preceded in death by her sister, Earline Cochran; and brothers, Joe Richardson and Andy Hunt.
Memorial donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 518 Florence Road, Savannah, Tenn. 38372.
Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m., at Southside Baptist Church in Savannah with Benny Taylor and Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in Savannah Cemetery.
