Owen Lee Qualls (1-3-18) service 1-6-18

Owen Lee Qualls, 79, of Stantonville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Memphis.
He was born in Savannah, the son of the late William Archie and Gertrude “Totsie” Marlar Qualls.  He was united in marriage to Margaret Jeanell Kennedy, who survives.
Mr. Qualls was a member of West Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as deacon and church treasurer for many years. He had worked at Elam Mattress, assistant manager for Jetrick’s Corporation, and machinist and shipping clerk for Garan Sportswear.
He was an active member of Stantonville Ruritan Club and director for Pickwick Electric Cooperative 8th District for 31 years. 
In addition to his wife, Jeanell Qualls, he is survived by his son, Randy Qualls of Stantonville; his daughters, Debra Congiardo of Adamsville, Amanda Austin of Adamsville; a brother, Frank D. Qualls of Stantonville; six grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jane Qualls and Mary Edna Surratt.
Memorial donations may be made to West Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 6, at West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville with Dr. Wesley Pitts, Dr. James Stophel, Zach Congiardo, Chad Austin and Frankie Congiardo officiating. Burial followed in West Shiloh Cemetery.  Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer was in charge of arrangements.
